Choir Celebrates Its Patronal Feast of Saint Petar of Cetinje - Хор прославио своју крсну славу – Светог Петра Цетињског / November 3, 2024.
On the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, November 3, 2024, the members of our church choir at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in London prayerfully celebrated their patronal feast day in honor of their heavenly protector, Saint Petar of Cetinje.
Following the Prayer Behind the Ambo, the festal bread (Slava Kolach) was blessed and cut. This year's kum (sponsor) was Olivera Lukic, who lovingly prepared the celebration. The sponsorship for next year's feast was accepted by Dragana Todorovic.
After the breaking of the Slava bread, Fr. Dusko Markovic addressed the choir members, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their faithful ministry and for offering beautiful church singing every Sunday to the glory of God, enriching the liturgical life of our parish. He offered special praise for the choir's inspiring chanting during that day's Divine Liturgy.
Fr. Dusko also emphasized that sacred church music is a teacher of the Church's life, nurturing both the mind and the heart of every believer. He noted that, over the past year, the choir members have made remarkable progress through their dedication, regular rehearsals, and sincere desire to offer worthy and prayerful hymns to our Lord, the Most Holy Theotokos, and all the saints.
Following the Divine Liturgy, the celebration continued in the parish hall, where the choir members prepared a festive table with homemade sweet and savory refreshments for everyone in attendance.
On this joyful occasion, we warmly invite men, women, and all those interested in church singing to join our choir. We welcome anyone who wishes to use their God-given talents to glorify the Lord through sacred music and become part of our parish's liturgical life.

У недељу, 19. по Духовима, 3. новембра 2024. године, чланови нашег хора при храму Светог Саве у Лондону, молитвено су прославили своју славу, небеског заштитника - Светог Петра Цетињског. Након заамвоне молитве пререзан је славски колач, који је ове године дивно припремила наша кума Оливера Лукић. Кумство за следећу годину преузела је сестра Драгана Тодоровић.
Члановима хора се након пререзаног колача обратио отац Душко Марковић, који је заблагодарио хору што сваке недеље дивно поју у славу Божију улепшавајући Литургијско време. Посебно је похвалио данашње појање наших драгих чланица.
Црквена музика је учитељ црквености, васпитач црквеног разума и срца. Наше сестре су за годину дана доста напредовале, јер вредно вежбају, долазе на пробе и својим трудом показују колико им је стало да правилно појање узносе нашем Господу, Пресветој Богомајци и свим угодницима Божијим.
Након Свете Литургије, славска свечаност је настављена у црквеној сали, где су чланице уприличиле слатко и слано послужење за све присутне.
Овом приликом позивамо и мушке чланове и све заинтересоване да им се придруже.
