Serbian Sunday School “Saint Sava”

The Serbian Sunday School in London, Ontario, offers educational programs for children and young people with the goal of preserving the Serbian language, Orthodox faith, culture, and tradition. After several years of discontinuity, the school was renewed in 2023 with the blessing, personal initiative, and great dedication of Father Duško Markovic, and once again began its educational and spiritual mission.

The school proudly bears the name of Saint Sava, our first Archbishop and great educator, who left us the sacred responsibility to nurture faith, knowledge, kindness, wisdom, and love for our people. For this reason, learning and preserving the Serbian language as our mother tongue, teaching our children about the Orthodox faith, developing an awareness of Serbian national, cultural, and spiritual identity, and strengthening our Serbian community are the primary goals of our school.

Through the grace of God and the dedication of many kind and hardworking people, our school continues to grow from year to year, bringing together an increasing number of children. We are especially grateful to our religious education teacher Milena Markovic, our dedicated teachers and volunteers, and above all, our parents, whose love, trust, sacrifice, and commitment make it possible for our school to live, grow, and fulfill its mission.

Thanks to their tireless work, dedication, and shared love for our children, the Saint Sava Serbian Sunday School has become one of the treasures of our parish and one of the most important pillars of our community. Through our children, our Orthodox faith, Serbian language, culture, and identity continue to live and flourish for generations to come.

Our Serbian Sunday School meets every Sunday following the Divine Liturgy, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
